The Traditions of Fellowship
“Johane Masowe” is a name steeped in the traditions of fellowship and the African white garment church. Its roots can be traced back to the year 1931 when BABA JOHANE, inspired by a vision, laid the foundation for what would become our church .
The name “Johane Masowe” carries deep significance, translating to “John of the Wilderness” and drawing a parallel to the revered figure of John the Baptist, who prepared the way for the ministry of Jesus Christ. In much the same way, our church seeks to prepare the hearts and souls of believers to receive the Word of God and experience the transformative power of faith.
Within our church, the term “Vapostori” is commonly used to describe those who embrace the teachings of Masowe, along with some closely linked traditions. It signifies a collective identity, a community of believers united by their dedication to prayer, salvation, faith, and love. As we reflect on our journey, we are reminded of the enduring power of faith and the profound impact that individuals, inspired by a common purpose, can have on the world.
Over the years, our congregation has grown and expanded, guided by the Holy Spirit to reach distant lands, including the United Kingdom, South Africa, Mozambique, Ireland, Belfast, Botswana, and Scotland. Yet, our mission remains unaltered – to ensure that the truth and Glory of our Almighty God are known far and wide. Our message transcends boundaries, resonating with people from diverse backgrounds, all seeking spiritual enlightenment and the boundless love of our Creator.
Our story is one of resilience, growth, and an unwavering commitment to fulfilling God’s mission on Earth. It is a testament to the enduring power of faith, the limitless reach of love, and the unbreakable bond of community.

Our Beliefs
Apostles of Muchinjikwa holds firm to a set of foundational beliefs that guide our faith, practices, and community. Rooted in the teachings of Father Johane, our beliefs serve as a compass for our spiritual journey and shape our interactions with God, one another, and the world around us. Through the Deity of Jesus Christ we believe Jesus Christ as the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. Moreover, the work of the Holy Spirit is ever present whenever we congregate.
As members of Christ’s body, we are called to love one another, support one another, and bear witness to the Kingdom of God. With the return of Jesus Christ at hand we are now striving to live holy and faithful lives, seeking to fulfill His mission of reconciliation and redemption. He will judge the living and the dead, and establish His eternal Kingdom.
We are thus, committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by proclaiming the living gospel and message to all people and making disciples of Father Johane and Jesus Christ. We recognize evangelism and missions as integral to our calling, both locally and globally, seeking to share the love of Christ and advance His kingdom in word and deed. As such, we believe in the priesthood of all our congregants, affirming that every member has direct access to God through Father Johane, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Each believer is called to serve God and others, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and equipped with spiritual gifts for ministry within the church and the world. Our Bible is alive and is therefore not just a historical book. We are living it!
As a Christian Church rooted in the Baptism tradition, we affirm core tenets that guide our faith, practice, and mission as prescribed by Father Johane and all subsequent Holy Messengers. Baptism is a symbolic act of identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, signifying new life in Him and incorporation into the body of believers.
In all that we believe and do, we seek to glorify God, proclaim the teachings of Father Johane, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, and embody love and grace to the world, following the example and teachings of our Great Messengers and Savior. At Apostles of Muchinjikwa, these beliefs unite us in our commitment to love God, love one another, and others, as we seek to faithfully follow Jesus Christ in all aspects of life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Friday and Sunday services start at around 9am.
Kids are welcome too under their parents or guardian supervision. We work with multi-agencies to help, protect and promote the welfare of children.
Everyone is welcome, our team will always assist on arrival.
Anyone is allowed to share the Word of God with the congregation.
